I Am Slowly Going Crazy…

1,2,3,4,5,6, switch!

Remember that chant from decades ago? It’s precisely how I feel.

The past week has been absolute madness, and there’s no end in sight. We have miles to go before we sleep.

But, ready or not, we’re going to be on the road early tomorrow morning.

We’re taking our time across the island: driving as far as Deer Lake tomorrow, and stopping at a B&B called Bird’s Nest Bed and Breakfast (http://www.birdsnestbb.com/index.html). We’ll let you know how it is.

The following night, we’re going to drive up as far as the ferry, and try and find someplace there to spend the night.

Wednesday, we plan to stay at Vernon and Adele’s in Forteau – and I’m pretty excited about that. Thursday morning we have to rush off to Red Bay to fulfill some occupational obligations, and after that it’s off to Mary’s Harbour, where we’ll be taken by speedboat to Battle Island.

Not sure what it’s going to be like without internet, television or telephone for the whole summer. I dare say it will be interesting. But we are only an hour away by boat from Mary’s Harbour, so whenever we suffer complete withdrawal, we can hop on the boat and get a fix.

And so, we head off into the wilderness. Wish us luck!

This is a great way to let us all know how things are going. Sorry the weather is so miserable today for your drive. I see its Speed boat now to Battle Harbour- thats interesting. Jale was great last night, went to bed around 10 got up at 5 with Tom and peed then back to bed until 8:30. I’m working right now, its mid morning and she was settling in for a nap so I put her in her kennel for awhile. Little trip to Carbonear tonight for her to check on Nan and Pops house. Keep in touch and drive safe.
Love you both
